Einbecker Mai-ur Bock
Sierra Nevada Early Spring Beer (ESB)

Schneider Eisbock
Brooklyner Schneider Hopfen Weisse

As a long time regular at the Gate I’m happy and honored to be asked to host this event. What I’m hoping to do with this night is to present lagers as the original craft beer. Before the name was corrupted by mass-market breweries into something that to most people means bland, tasteless swill, lagers were brewed seasonally in small batches with the highest quality ingredients, and given plenty of time to mature and fully develop. This event will have a full range of quality lager beers; from Helles and Pilsner, which are golden beers with flavor, to amber and darker beers like Dunkel, Bock, and Dopplebock, and even a couple of seasonally appropriate Maibocks, which are golden Bock beers traditionally tapped on the first of May. We’ve tracked down some great, rare beers for this event. The good people at the Gate have even added to my lager list some great German Ales like Schneider Eisbock and Brooklyner Schneider Hopfen Weiss that they've been saving for such a special occasion. We’ve tracked down some great, rare beers for this event. Don’t miss it!
