Park Slope is a Neighbourhood

In 1997, I opened The Gate to a small and supportive audience. Craft beer in an all inclusive pub setting. Old World ethic. I mean that place in the Slieve Anieran mountains with the eternal peat fire, the dusty Carling bottles and the room full of young, old, feathered and furred. Or the narrow Ma Byrne's in Wexford with the always perfect pint and many amazing conversations.

Much to the chagrin of those thankfully few (professing as if many!) who prefer everyone on the stool next to them to be a mirror image, The Gate continues to provide the finest in craft beer, delivered properly and set down on a bartop reflecting the cross section that we all are.

Young, old, feathered or furred.
